EOX IT Services GmbH at Intergeo Expo 2024
Intergeo 2024 is one of the world’s leading expos for geospatial solutions, bringing together professionals, innovators, and thought leaders from across the globe. Held this year in Stuttgart, Germany, the event provided a perfect platform for industry experts to showcase the latest advancements in geospatial technologies, mapping, and data analytics. EOX was among the participants at this event. Stefan Brand and Miriam Mabeya had the privilege of representing the company on the expo stage, sharing insights about what we do.
# Key Highlights of the Presentation
The presentation highlighted several key areas. First, it addressed the challenges of handling satellite data, emphasizing the complexity of processing such large datasets due to daily updates and cloud interference. To overcome this, the cloud-based EOxHub (opens new window) platform was introduced, offering services for data access, processing, and visualization via tools like EO Dashboard (opens new window) and AgriApp. We also talked about EOxCloudless products (opens new window).
The presentation additionally showcased successful case studies where our solutions have contributed to various projects on Agriculture, e.g. one of the areas where we apply this technology is the Area Monitoring System which is used by government agencies to pay EU subsidies to farmers in a fair way. Aviation (opens new window), EU Green Deal (opens new window), which is an ambition to be climate neutral by 2050 and the GTIF (Green Transition Information Factory) has tools that allow users to interactively discover the underlying opportunities and complexities of transitioning to carbon neutrality. You can watch the full presentation (opens new window) on demand.
# General Observation at Intergeo
It was striking to observe the market and geospatial community's increasing focus on UAVs/drones and 3D technologies, with numerous companies prominently exhibiting these advancements. A diverse range of mobile mapping systems, particularly more portable options, were on display. For EOX, this led to productive discussions about potential collaborations, as mobile mapping systems require global basemaps. However, Earth Observation (EO) and imagery technologies appeared to have limited representation at the event. Additionally, it was intriguing to see companies involved in ocean technology, exhibiting at this event showcasing innovations such as underwater drones and advanced underwater surveying solutions.
# Conclusion
Beyond the presentation, Intergeo 2024 provided an excellent opportunity to engage with fellow professionals, potential clients, and industry thought leaders. We received a positive response to our technologies, with some expressing interest in partnerships and collaborations. The expo allowed us to network with key stakeholders and discuss how geospatial solutions can solve today’s most pressing global challenges, from climate change to greening the urban cities. We look forward to leveraging the momentum gained at the expo to further expand our impact across the various sectors.
We are also planning to attend the next Intergeo event in October 7th to 9th 2025 (opens new window) in Frankfurt, Germany, where we hope to network even further and gain deeper insights into emerging trends in geospatial technologies and innovations. We look forward to seeing how the industry evolves and especially new developments in areas like Earth Observation (EO) and satellite imagery, which as EOX we believe is already playing a bigger role in the industry.
